It is no secret I am very good at drinking. Everyone knows me for being the girl who always sticks to “Vodka and Water” to avoid hangovers and keep a slimmer figure. Howeeeever, during my recent trip to Chicago, a very good friend of mine took me to a REALLY COOL drinks place; The Aviary. The Aviary is set up like a restaurant, where one needs reservations to have a table, and there is a glassed kitchen area where everyone can watch the “chefs” make all their preparation, except there is ~~no food~~. It’s only drinks. Heavennn

However, these are no Vodka-waters. These drinks are perfected and imagined from all around the world inspirations and gathered into an extensive 8 page menu. One can even get a 3 course “meal” and chose their service according to their own palate. Tradition and innovation combine fresh herbs, fruits, spices, and various flavors to create a DRINK. My first drink came with snow in it and I had to use a sugar cane stirrer to combine all the ingredients with the vodka – it’s the one on the right on the picture below. My second drink came in a cylinder shaped small aquarium and had the most ingredients I have ever seen a concoction bathe in – the one on the left on the picture. Other people with me had infused warm drinks, world’s best tasting daquiris, and there even was one with all cotton-candy on top that the mixologist melted in front of you while pouring the liquor on top of it.

Honestly, this was probably my favourite restaurant, ever.

I STRONGLY suggest you visiting the Aviary if you visit Chicago… but don’t forget to make a reservation. These people are not kidding.

a few thoughts…

I was just reflecting today of the blessings that come into our lives. I took a moment to acknowledge in my head the people in my life who are always there for you. I have had the privilege of meeting people from all around the world but I can still count my best friends on a single hand. They’re the people who will always be there for you no matter the bumps that come in the road. They’re the people who will take heat and stand up for you when they don’t even want to just because they will always have your back. And sometimes, by being selfish or ungrateful you can hurt these people, and trust is very hard to gain back. Sometimes it will be inevitable, and sometimes you won’t even know that you hurt them. Just take a moment to accede the people you love, those that are and will always be there for you. Often times it is easy to forget to give compliments or even facile to say hurtful things that, even being meant as a joke can still be hurtful to someone deep down. And sometimes you just straight up f___ up. So take a moment today to tell your family, and most importantly your best friends that have been there through thick and thin, that you love them and that you are there for them.

Finally, IT has arrived !!! www.AVSart.com
Myyyyy very dear friend Andrew VanSickle (@AVS14) has finally put together a website where he presents his art, talks about his art, presents other stuff, talks about other stuff, and lots of other stuff too ! Stuff stuff stuff. This past summer I did to my delight his t-shirt campaign and got a few of them too, and they are now available online for everyone to order. My favourite one is the orange/yellow below
I also have a 2 of his Weeping Supergirl paintings that are really cool and colorful, a gold one with color accents and a blue one full of silver stars. The gold one is 12X12 so really small and cute and the other one is normal sized. My good friend Paris loves it and got a bubblegum pink one when she came to Cincinnati, and like me she loved the meaning of the weeping supergirl — that every girl, even the strongest of all, can have weak moments and cry at times, even with a “S” on her chest… That every girl is human and can be hurt ! “No matter how strong, no matter how smart, no matter how beautiful, you still have feelings.”
Oh, and it’s also on my t-shirt and in my hand in that huge picture on the background… <3

AVS also did a series of "Fountain Square" t-shirts and paintings for all the good people of Cincinnati. I have one of them as well and I love it because when people ask me about it I just go into a story on how I used to live in Cincinnati and tell them about the paintings and everything
Andrew’s inspiration comes from the late Andy Warhol with the whole pop art movement he brought in the 1960′s and 70′s, where bright colors and popular images feature in a majority of his pieces. Andrew has also collaborated with Andy’s brother, Paul in the late 1990′s.

HINTERTUX

I LOVE SKIING !!!
I hadn’t skied in THREE YEARS when I decided to go for a trip to Hintertux, Austria for a couple of days to see if I’d lost it or not… The Alpes were AMAZING !!! I stayed at a resort at the bottom of the mountain called (insert joke here) BadHotel haha..!!! Aparently “Bad” means Bath there so the hotel had a Spa and pools and baths in it so I could get warm and relaxed after a big day of skiing !!!

I tried to take pictures whenever possible but my photography skills being mediocre it is hard to really see how beautiful the scenery was and how high we were in altitude !!!

I got a super cute new Phenix ski suit that was all pink white and black and sunglasses to match but on the second day I fell and broke the sunglasses ooooooops !!!

On the second day there was a Super G competition organized by the Polish association so I decided to give it a try and compete for the first time in almost 10 years !!! It went really well and I finished 2nd… by 0.04 seconds AHHH !!!!

And also tried to take some videos but it’s not as easy as it seems to ski and hold the camera at the same time hahaha !!!!!!
ALLOOOO !!!

YAY for WINTER !!!

I LOVE HALLOWEEEEEEEN ! Sometimes I wish I could turn back time and go trick or treating as a little kid back in Quebec ! However, since that is not really an option at the moment, I just make the best of it and get dressed up and go to parties instead ! I got invited to the annual “Hallowood” event hosted by fashion heavy hitters Miguel Marnau and Giampaolo Sgura and sponsored by Belvedere vodka. The theme of the party was America. There were a few costumes that were extra popular such as the duo Warhol-Sedgwick and the American looking basketball or football player but honestly, people got REALLY into it and came up with some really interesting costumes. I decided to dress as Minnie Mouse because of her obvious Americanism but made it cuter by being all pink. Party Minniiiie ! I also kind of associated my costume with my obsession with @Deadmau5, so I was Miss Mau5 for a day with fellow Canadian model Theo Hall as Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue (no one knew who that was here in Milan) noooo don’t let The Twin Towers buuuurn !!!!! We got hungry during the party so we had some popcorn The DJ ! Miss California, Miss Florida and Miss Texas ! They were all guys dressed as girls ! Princess and glittery football player Andy Warhol(s) Hulk Hogan (he wresled random people all night)
I also got to go to dinner at Giannino Ristorante, one of the BEST restaurants in Milan ! I sat right across from Calum Best, actor and son of pro-footballer George Best and ummm, he was pretty cute no lies.

The dinner was super, everyone was wearing their costumes and the vibe was awesome !

and then we went to: The Club ! Best party in Milan, the whole place was completely full and the champagne and Grey Goose was flowiiiiing ! I tried taking a video but I’m not sure you can see that well Princess of darkness and Minnie. Good duo. The Club Halloween horror party My ONLY regret this Halloween: I didn’t eat enough candy !!!!!!!!!
