“Through the Pain” and Makeshift Prodigy: they say good things come in TWO’s

I was lucky enough TWO weekends ago to get invited to the “Through the Pain” charity even held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago. Well first off it was for a great cause: to help Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone with medical bills after his accident from back on July 6th. Matthew courageously helped a woman on the street that was being physically assaulted by her husband and got beat so badly they had to remove a large portion of his skull, which cost hundreds of thousands of dollars leaving him severely physically handicapped. The thing is, this benefit concert was so cool and everyone there was cheerful, which made the vibe easy and happy to support the cause. The best part is: I got to discover a SUPERRR cool band named Makeshift Prodigy. Honestly this band is like a mix of U2 and Coldplay and Muse and is amazing live. I even got to meet them after and all: woh. They were definitely the highlight of the 6 bands that played, including Kill Hannah, and had the beeest energy on stage. And then we went to the 29th floor of the @HardRockChicago for a party with all the bands wahooo ! I definitely had a lot of fun and even thought for a second I was a rockstar myself with Gwen as you can tell from the picture. For anyone going to Chicago this weekend for Labor Day: @MakeshiftProdigy is playing this THURSDAY (september 2nd) at the LaSalle Power Company, downtown Chicago, 500 N LaSalle, 60654 (for all you MapQuest enthusiasts, see this), and I guarantee you it’s worth going. The doors open at 8PM and there is hosted vodka from 8:30PM to 9:30PM with the band playing right after around 10PM. So it is early enough you can go enjoy a great performance and be home by midnight (if you work the next day), or paint the town red after (if your name is Alizee or something like that :P ). And it’s only a $5.00 cover so. I hope to see everyone THEREEE !!!

You can check out the band here but LIVE is always better allooo !

I give it 8.78 out of 10 hearts <3
